More details:
SPLOTT BOTTOM BOYS with SICKNOTE STEVE
From the dustbowl to sultry, steamy downtown Roath the Splott Bottom Boys, embark on a glorious odyssey through the songs made famous by the Coen Brothers’ O Brother Where Art Thou plus popular tunes by Seeger, Leadbelly, Steve Earle and other old timey and alt country songwriters. They play guitars, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, rubboard and more, igniting outbursts of singing, clapping and foot-tapping among innocent bystanders.
From the Cotton Fields to the Big Rock Candy Mountain, on the Freight Train and the Erie Canal, with Duelling Banjos and Mandolin Wind, the Splott Bottom Boys are no curators of musical museum pieces; they bring songs to life with passion, humour and liberal splashes of hair gel.

Sicknote Steve recreates the authentic sound of the original hobo bluesman, Seasick Steve. No technical trickery here - the guitar paying skills and vocals of Sicknote Steve invoke the atmosphere of the Mississippi Delta as he slides and stomps his way through the Seasick songbook.
“As near as you can be to Seasick Steve without being Seasick Steve!”
“Forget tribute act! This man is the real deal - a real musician”

FRANCESCA’S WORD SALAD
Francesca shuffles songs, comedy and hats into rarely seen before configurations, with deliriously funny results. Inspired by the likes of Ivor Cutler, Harry Belafonte and The Muppets her solo sessions (moonlighting from the wonderful Wonderbrass) have been know to reduce the normally sturdy Milgis Yurt to the consistency of a quivering, giggling blancmange. Be warned! And wear a hat.

EVENING CHORUS
New young folk-inflected band with a growing reputation in Cardiff (and Chicago!)
“they harmonize in a soulful way to emphasize the sorrow of heartbreak. Banjo, violin and guitar build, then fall down to a quiet strum, only to build again, … incredible potential” www.loveshackbaby.net music blog, Chicago, Illinois.
