Project-Ten Summer show in Milgi Workshop 3 weekends in June
s u m m e r # 1
project/ten, cardiff’s only roaming gallery, will be settling for three weekends in june, taking residence in a warehouse on northcote lane, cardiff.
this, the gallery’s second pop-up exhibition, features new work from the whole collective, including chairs from london-based product designer osian batyka-williams, print folios from illustrator tom kitchen and new work by jon oakes, recently short-listed for this year’s ‘welsh artist of the year’ prize. summer #1 will be a continually changing exhibition, in respect that sold work is replaced and walls refreshed each weekend.
summer #1 also introduces the collective’s latest additions - new artist from west wales, ben lloyd; matt needle, a graphic designer boasting an impressive list of clients that include nike, reiss clothing and tiger beer; and carwyn evans, who recently graduated with a masters from the royal college of art, london.
each weekend features a large-scale site-specific installation which will act as a continual draw to the exhibition. june 11-12 sees debbie smyth’s outstanding and intricate nail and thread work produced on-site in a ‘live pinning’. june 18-19 further introduces the work of artist ben lloyd, and june 25-26 showcases work by architect rob stevens.
this exhibition promises to be bigger, better and bolder, and builds on the foundation laid by the first pop-up. project/ten is quickly establishing a reputation for quality, integrity and collection-worthy art and design, and leads the way as cardiff’s first design-focused gallery.
all work will be for sale with prices ranging from £25 - £4500
